Audio Player: Track user clicks to play a new song with Google Analytics integration! 🚀

We’re super thrilled to introduce the Google Analytics integration for our Audio Player app! :tada:

Now, you can easily track when a user clicks to play a new track, helping you gain more insights into how visitors interact with your content and measure engagement with precision.

Key Details

How to find the GA integration?

You can find the Google Analytics integration on the Settings tab of your widget’s settings:

Make sure Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager is installed on your site. If both are set up, the click stats will be sent to both platforms.

What info can you track?

With the GA integration, you can track whenever a user clicks to play a new track. Each time this happens, an event is recorded and sent to your Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager account.

To add a new event, simply click the Add Event button:

What info is included in the event?

The event will include a custom name and these parameters:

  • Source
  • App
  • Widget ID
  • Track Name
  • Artist Name

These details will appear in your stats, giving you deeper insights into what’s resonating with your audience.

Custom parameters

You can also add custom parameters, like the widget name, for more detailed tracking. For example:

If you’d like to track events beyond just new track plays, feel free to add your suggestions to the Wishlist. We’ll do our best to consider them for future updates! :slightly_smiling_face:

Friends, have you tested a new feature? How did it work for you? Let us know in the comments – we’d love to hear from you

I think everybody wanted the statistics displayed alongside of each track in the player so everybody could see what was popular.

Hi there, @user27155 and welcome aboard :waving_hand:

Thanks a ton for your feedback!

I am really sorry that the Google Analytics integration didn’t meet your needs. Just to clear things up, you want the play stats to be available for your website visitors as well, right?

Got it, thanks!

I’ve added this idea to the Wishlist on your behalf - Show play stats right in the playlist for the end user.

If more users get interested in this feature, we’ll try to think it over in the future updates :slightly_smiling_face:
