Attachments VERSUS (non-hyperlinked) Links

As many have probably noticed before, the attachment feature for the contact form widget does not actually attach a file but provides a non-hyperlinked link in the email instead.

While I’m not here to cast aspersions on a development preference or necessity, I did want to posit a possible suggestion or query (or both).

With the ability to add custom Javascript to the widget, is there a way to leverage that feature to allow files to be attached directly to the email itself?

I’ve fiddled around with it a bit but it seems a bit more complex than a simple script for handling attachments.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hey there @Andrew_Gilby

Many thanks for sharing your suggestion with us!

I’ve discussed it with the dev team and, unfortunately, it’s impossible to implement this customization even via the Custom JS option. I am really sorry :pensive:

We totally agree that it would be an awesome enhancement. We’ll try to think about this opportunity in the future and we’ll keep you in the loop in the Wishlist thread.
