I’d like to be able to create a numbers dashboard, using the numbers counter widget, which rather than using types in numbers is able to grab values dynamically from somewhere else. Or possibly retrieve from a table in elfsight that itself it created from an external source. Is this possible now and if not could this be added to the roadmap. This would allow dynamic KPI dashboards to be created.
Hello Steve and welcome to the forum!
I’m very sorry to say, but at the moment we don’t support API integration, my apologies for the inconvenience! Your request sounds very smart, and I do believe we’ll be able to think it over in our future updates.
Thanks a lot for your suggestion!
I too would LOVE a zapier integration with the apps!
When embedding an elfsight widget (social feed/contact form/checkout button) - it would be awesome if some parameters could be dynamc. For example - different paypal adders/contact email address or a different social account feed, based on a URL parameter or an iframe parameter on the widget.
Other similar sites, like Common Ninja, have the ability to connect to a MySQL database, retrieve data and map the data into content of the app.
As almost all CMS sites are driven from a database, this would remove double entering of content
Hi @Andy_Cowan, welcome to the community, happy to have you with us!
Very smart idea, thanks for sharing! However, could you please share a specific example of how you would use the MySQL database connection with any of our widgets? This could help us understand your needs better.
Thanks for your help!
Sure.
We have a database driven CMS for our website. This includes list of staff members and events, as well as news articles and a daily lottery winner.
Our use case would be to pull the data from the database to create events in an event calendar. We’d point the widget to a server>database>table and then map columns in the table to Content fields in the widget. For example, we have a “StartDate” column which would be mapped to the “Starts” field in an Event widget. Similarly, there would be a column for “Event Name”, “Image” etc.
The widget would then display one item of content (in this case an Event) for each row of the table.
Im sure you could see how this could be applied to other Apps and widget
Awesome, thanks for all the details, @Andy_Cowan! It sounds like you’re looking for dynamic content support, which could be a really valuable feature, though it’s a bit complex.
However, we might think in this direction in the future, and I’ll be happy to share an update here if anything changes
Thank you for your help!
