Alphabetical Sorting for Venues & Hosts

We’re actively using the Event Calendar widget and have found it to be a strong, flexible tool for event discovery. One improvement that would significantly enhance usability—especially for calendars with many recurring partners—would be the ability to automatically alphabetize Venues and Hosts/Organizers.

Suggested enhancement:

  • Add an optional toggle to sort Venues and Hosts alphabetically (A–Z)

  • Apply sorting consistently across:

    • Event creation dropdowns

    • Public-facing filters or lists (where applicable)

Why this matters:

  • Many organizations work with a large number of venues or hosts

  • Alphabetical order improves scanability and reduces friction for both admins and end users

  • It removes the need for manual naming workarounds (prefixes, symbols, etc.)

This could be implemented as an optional setting so existing workflows are unaffected.

Thanks for continuing to evolve the platform—we’d love to see this added in a future release.

I am happy to say that the Alphabetical sorting of Host/Venue options in filters is already available:

As for the venue/host lists in the configurator, this feature is not supported now, but the idea is already on the Wishlist.
