The new reviews don’t appear in the widget right away because of the cache. The cache time for all Reviews apps is 72 hours.
I’ve checked your widget and found only 1 review beyond the cache period, that isn’t displayed in the widget. This is a Booking.com review from February 7, and it’s not displayed in the widget, because you’re showing reviews with the text only:
If you disable this filter, this review will appear in the widget:
As for the smile icons, I guess you mean these ones, right?
If this is the case, our widget just pulls them from the original Booking.com reviews and there is no way to remove them:

We’ve fixed the issue using this code in the Custom CSS field on the Style tab of your widget’s settings:

width: 16px;
}
The same issue was in your Facebook Feed widget, and we’ve added this code there too. Please check your website and let me know if it’s fine now
