I would like to suggest a feature improvement for your Reviews widgets, especially Google Reviews.
It would be very useful to have the ability to manually add contextual information to each displayed review, without altering the original review text itself.
For example, for each review, website owners could add custom fields such as:
- Customer city or location
- Type of project or service provided
- Room or area concerned, for interior design businesses
- Product or service category
- Project date or context
- Short internal description of the customer case
For example, instead of displaying only:
“Great experience, very professional and helpful.”
The widget could display:
“Great experience, very professional and helpful.”
Project: Living room redesign
Location: Lille, France
Service: Interior decoration consultation
This would be especially valuable for local businesses using reviews as social proof, because it would help visitors better understand the context of each testimonial.
It could also improve local SEO relevance by adding useful, visible, human-readable context around customer reviews, such as city names, service types, and project categories.
Important point: the original review should remain unchanged and clearly separated from the manually added context, to avoid any confusion or manipulation of the review content.
A possible implementation could be:
- Optional custom fields per review
- Ability to choose which fields are displayed
- Display options for layout and styling
- Possibility to include this information in the visible HTML of the page
- Clear separation between imported review content and manually added website-owner context
This feature would be particularly useful for businesses such as interior designers, architects, agencies, consultants, local service providers, real estate professionals, home improvement companies, and medical or wellness practices.
In my case, I would like to use Elfsight Reviews to display customer testimonials for an interior decoration business, while adding context such as the customer’s city, the room/project concerned, and the type of service provided. This would make the reviews more useful for visitors and more relevant for local SEO.
