WishList: Increase # of Feeds for Widget

I am designing a website for a mixed use center (commercial real estate) and it would be great if I could have an instagram feed that allows me to show all our tenants…right now I can only add 5.

Hi @Mikaela_Kasalek

I love your idea, thanks a bunch for sharing it! We’ll definitely think about it, and I’ll keep you posted if there are any updates.

Thanks again and welcome to Community

Any update on this folks ? We flagged this last year as well. 5 is just way to low, especially for Enterprise.

Much as I’d love to share an update, unfortunately, we can’t give any specific ETA for this feature at the moment.

I do see your point and agree that it would be awesome to add more than 5 sources. I really hope our devs will find a way to add it to the widget.

Once any news come up, I’ll make sure to update you here :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you so much for pointing us in this direction!

Hi Max

Can you give me a little more info as to why it can’t be done ? Surely if you can do 5 you can do 50 ? Is the limitation due to Instagram ? or on your side ? This is something we very much want to add to our website and if you guys cannot do it in the immediate future we will have to look elsewhere.

Many thanks

Scott

@Scott17 Dear Scott, I absolutely understand your frustration, and I’m really sorry that we don’t have any encouraging news to share as of now.

I’m afraid, due to various technical constraints, we’re currently unable to extend the limits for our Instagram Feed widget. Please know that we are closely monitoring the situation and will eagerly increase the limits as soon as the opportunity arises :pray:t2:

I am showing all the Instagram accounts of Houston Turkish community and need to add them in one widget but it restricts me with max of 5 accounts

Hi there @Mehmet_Sen

Increasing the number of accounts that can be displayed in the widget is definitely a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

We’ll try to take your suggestion under consideration and I’ll update you here in case of any news :slightly_smiling_face:

Any further updates on this? Five sources is just so limiting when trying to create a properly curated slider.

In our situation, we want to select specifc posts to show in the slider. First we add the sources (usernames) and then use the filters to select the specific post URLs.

If the sources could just be the actual post URLs (instead of just hashtags and usernames), surely it wouldn’t be difficult allow more than five?

So maybe a practical solution would be to still only allow up to five username and/or hashtag sources, but also allow for post URLs to be added as additional sources.

Would appreciate a clear explanation of the reason for this five source limit.

Thanks

Greetings @Rob_Reason and welcome to the Community

The thing is that each additional source comes with its additional costs and might affect the widget’s performance. From what we’ve gathered, the 5 source limit usually covers the needs of most users effectively.

However, we do understand that there are cases like yours where more than 5 sources are necessary. We’ll try to think about this opportunity in the future. I’ll make sure to update you here in case of any news :slightly_smiling_face:

As for the URL source option, we already have such a request in the Wishlist. Please vote for this idea in order not to miss any important updates - Ability to create galleries using user post URLs
