I don’t think this is possible, but is there any way to associate a url link with the images in the Logo Showcase? This is part of our sponsor recognition requirement

If I understood you correctly, you need the logo to be clickable with the redirect option to the added link.
In this case, you should click on the needed logo and add the link to the Link Field:
Also, you can enable Open Link in a New Tab setting by clicking on the Link Editor:
