It would be great if Amazon allowed showing all product reviews regardless login to their service.
Hi there, and welcome to the Community @Brad_Helmink ![]()
Thank you so much for the idea!
We agree that it would be great to show all reviews, but due to the restrictions on the Amazon side, there’s nothing can be done with it now.
However, we’ll keep tabs on this situation and update you here in case of any changes ![]()
Thanks for the update, Max. Are developers actively looking for a solution? That is what I was told by customer service 5 days ago. Here’s a screengrab:
Hi there, @Superfoodie ![]()
Yep, we’re keeping an eye on this situation. If there is any chance to overcome this limitation, we’ll try to implement it to the widget.
We’ll update you here if any news comes up ![]()
Hi Max,
Are developers actively working on finding a solution? The issue has been existing for about half a year now.
Based on your response, should we have the understanding that there is little chance that a solution will come to light?
I just want to make sure I am not misunderstanding what you are saying.
Thanks!
Hi there, @Superfoodie ![]()
Much as I’d love to share an update, unfortunately, we don’t have any news yet. Since the limitation comes directly from Amazon, there’s nothing we can do with it now. I am really sorry!
If anything changes on the Amazon side, we’ll try to implement this to the widget ![]()
Hi Max,
If Elfsight developers are not actively looking for a solution then would it be accurate to say that Elfsight developers are simply waiting for Amazon to proactively accommodate a change and proactively communicate that to third party developers?
How would Elfsight know whether anything changes on the Amazon side if the issue is not proactively being worked on internally?
I simply want an honest and straightforward assessment of the efforts in place. I do not want to be delusional with blind hope that this widget is being actively troubleshooted on Elfsight’s end or Amazon’s end.
Hi @Superfoodie!
I’m truly sorry this came across as misleading. That wasn’t our intention to set false expectations, and I apologize for the confusion!
At this point we can’t share any timeline, or even promise that it will be possible to show all reviews.. The limitation is on Amazon’s side, so there’s very little we can change from our end until Amazon changes what third party tools are allowed to access.
About how we’d know if anything changes on Amazon’s side. This doesn’t require active development on our end right now, because there’s no workaround we can build under the current restriction.
Instead, our devs run periodic check on the review integrations. If we see the Amazon restriction is lifted or relaxed, we’ll validate it and then update the widget accordingly.
Hope this clears things up.
If any news comes up, we’ll inform you here right away. However, as mentioned before, it’s hard to give any predictions for now.
Thank you for your patience and understanding ![]()
Hi Max,
Thank you for clearing that up. Yes, if you could please ping this thread if and when the widget can function as intended that would be very much appreciated.
In the meantime, I would like to submit a ticket on the Amazon Seller end to see if they can share any info and submit a request if allowable. Are there any technical specifics that you would like me to include that would help them understand the exact situation preventing the widget from functioning properly?
Thank you!
Sure, our review provider’s team is keeping an eye on the situation. If anything changes on their side, they’ll let us know, and we’ll update you here right away ![]()
As for contacting Amazon Seller Support, you can absolutely do that. However they’ve already shared the technical details with us and we’re happy to share them with you.
Because of recent changes on Amazon’s side, only a limited number of reviews, often around 8, can be collected, no matter how many reviews are shown on the product page.
These are the reviews that are public, meaning anyone can see them without logging in to Amazon. To view more reviews, customers need to sign in, and those reviews can’t be collected at the moment.
