Serach Widget: How can I stretch the search field over a major part of the page width?

I would like to use the search widget basically the same way as on:
https://support.squarespace.com/hc/de?platform=v6&websiteId=565d3638e4b02e26d38be4e3

As large and prominent as possible on the page and responsive.

Can anybody please give me a hint which settings I have to choose for this?

Hi @Tom5 :wave: Happy to see you here! Welcome to Elfsight Community :tada:

You can change the size of the search filed in the Field tab using Size and Input Width settings:

Please check it and let me know if it helped :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you very much for the quick feedback Max.

Okay, what I don’t understand is why the box at 100% doesn’t stretch over the entire width.

At 300% it would have the size I have in mind.
But in that case it’s not responsive and doesn’t fit in the mobile version either.

I am probably still doing something wrong.

Thanks

Tom

I am sorry about this inconvenience!

Could you please send me a direct link to the website where your widget is installed?

I am glad that someone is helping me Max :slight_smile:

I have set up a demo page:
https://www.mbs-solutions.de/search-test

At the top there is the search field as I get it directly from Squarespace and below that is your widget.
I have set the size to 300% - that’s about how I would like it to be. Unfortunately the widget is not responsive.

Thank you ever so much for your help.

Hi @Tom5!

We’ve changed Input Width back to 100% and added the following code to the Custom CSS field on the Settings tab:

[class*="Inner__Container-sc"] {
  width: 100%;
}

Please check it and let me know if you like what you see :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve checked your webpage and it seems that you’ve removed the widget.

Could you please restore it or install to the test page?

Search widget doesn’t work because of the Google Search Engine issues on Google side. I am really sorry about it :pensive:

You can contact Google support, hopefully, they’ll be able to help.

Is it possible that this is because the page has only been online since today and is not yet indexed by Google?

I am so sorry for missing this point!

Yes, it also may be the reason for the issue.
