allow site visitors to search the image gallery for different key words in the title/description etc

As a an alternatives, you can create categories, assign them to your photos and display as the filters above the gallery:
Thannks for the feedback! I have the categories set for my larger gallery, but for my use, I was hoping visitors could search for something specific.
I use the gallery to showcase all of the available materials for custom orders on my website, and I believe it’s over 100 at this point. I label each different material/color with a number, and use those numbers in my product listings.
I was hoping visitors could just search for “32” they saw on an image, and see that a light blue color pulls up.
I don’t see a way to make the ID#s a viable category type.
