Do you have a widget for a search bar on my website

Previously, we had a Search app in our catalog, but we had to deprecate it and we’ve explained a reason in this post.

We hope to find a solution to restore this app in the future. We’ll keep you updated here :slightly_smiling_face:

We need a search function app. Where a visitor to a website can input a few words and the results appear. Like if they are searching for a product to buy. This would be great!

Unfortunately, we had to deprecate the Search app due to the changes on the Google’s side. However, we’re hopeful the devs will find a workaround that help us bring this widget back.

A search bar is powerful, especially if you can see search history.

UGH. I hate the news that the Search Engine using Google Search had to be taken away!! I have it on a couple sites and loved it! Hope you can bring it back!

Just in case, I’d like to note that currently it’s impossible to create new Search widgets. However, if you’ve already created them (before this change), they’ll be functioning correctly.

We also hope the devs will be able to bring it back down the line. We’ll keep you posted in this thread :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s the understanding. But somehow, the site I got working in late 2024, early 2025, had its search widget working okay in a directory, but now on the main domain it doesn’t work. All I did was move the HTML files - the urls are all the same paths with a different CSS skin, basically. The results should return the old Google crawl, but instead returns no results. I’ve had a chat tech look at it and we’re not sure why it’s doing this.

Yeah, I see you’ve had a chat with my colleague Mike. As he said, it’s possible that the page has not been indexed by Google yet (because of the recent move of HTML files), which is necessary for the Search app to work properly.

The indexation may take up to several days for the page to get fully indexed. If it’s been much time and the issue still persists, please let us know. We’ll be happy to look into this :slightly_smiling_face:

The idea is to offer a search bar that does not search the entire website, but only a specific section or subpage. For example, the search could be limited to one landing page, one category page, one directory, or a defined URL path.

This would be especially useful for websites with many different topics, where visitors should only search within a selected area instead of receiving results from the whole website.

Possible features could include:

  • Search limited to a specific URL or subdirectory
  • Option to define included and excluded pages
  • Simple integration via widget code
  • Customizable design to match the website
  • Search results displayed directly on the page
  • Option to use the widget multiple times for different sections of the website

This tool would help users find relevant information faster and would improve navigation on large websites.

Any chance we could have a search feature to search blogs in our website - sorta like the google search bar, but specific to our website. Thank you! :blush:
