If I delete a Photo Gallery widget in the Elfsight account, will it no longer be available on the website it was embedded into?
Hi there and welcome to the Community👋
You’re right! Once the widget is deleted from the account, it will disappear from the website too.

Thanks for responding! I manage a website for a charter club that is part of a retirement community. There is a luncheon every month that I post photos from. I need to be able to post the new photos in a designated section while keeping the previous photos available. Using Elfsite, it seems that it would require a separate widget for each month’s photos. Is this correct? Is there any better way?
The photos from different months are shown on different pages of your website, right?
No - I have them all on one page and just put the most recent on top. You can scroll down to find all the previous months. I’ve been using the Google Site Image Carousel but it cuts off some images and is limited in size.
In this case, you can just upload new photos, and they’ll appear at the top:
Moreover, you can group photos by categories. Just create month categories, assign categories to photos, and you’ll be able to filter photos by months using the category tabs:
Do not forget to enable filters on the Layout tab to make it work:
Please check it out and let me know if it worked for you ![]()
That might work! I’ll try it out asap.
Thanks for all your help!

Hi Max,
I’m trying to assign a category to this month’s luncheon photos but it is painfully slow! Each step takes about 10-15 seconds to pop-up with the next step. I’m using Chrome on a Mac. Everything is up to date, nothing else I’m using is slow and it wasn’t like this last month. Is this a problem, hopefully temporary, on your end or are there any suggestions to make it better?
Thanks,
Sheri Harris
Hi there, @Sheri_Harris ![]()
It looks like the larger image sizes on your site might be slowing down the widget. I noticed the images in your widget are currently over 1MB:
To help the widget load faster, we recommend using these tools to reduce the image size:
Once you’ve compressed and re-uploaded the images, you should see an improvement.
If you’ve done this and still notice issues, feel free to contact me, and I’ll be happy to help further ![]()
This is very frustrating!
It takes the same ridiculous amount of time to delete the photos I recently uploaded! Much more time than I have to devote to this.
I totally understand your emotions, but since the image size are over 15 MB, while the recommended file size is 1MB, the only option is to optimize them. I am really sorry!
