Pull Event Image from URL/Drive Link

I have a Google Form that automatically creates Google Calendar events using Zapier. I then use elfsight to turn that Google Calendar into a pretty and presentable widget embedded on our company website to share with external partners.

Zapier (along with almost every automation platform) is unable to upload attachments to Google Calendar Events. This means that I would still need to manually upload/attach photos to the GCal events to have them come through in the elfsight widget. While it would be AWESOME if Zapier could introduce this functionality, I feel like it would also make sense for elfsight to be able to pull an image from a URL just like it does with YouTube links.

It could prioritize any attached images but, if none are present, then default to the first image URL detected. Thanks for your time!

Hi there, @Jared_Losow and welcome aboard

Glad to say that the widget can pull the image from the URL in Google Calendar event description. For this, the image needs to be publicly accessible via a link.

If your image is publicly accessible, but it still doesn’t pull the image, please try to upload this image to another hosting (like Imgur) and use image links from this platform. Give it a try and let me know if it worked
