Hi everyone — we’ve come up with the idea of a no-code visual editor to connect widgets on a page and build simple interaction flows. We’d really love to hear your thoughts on this!
Idea
A visual “Widget Sync” editor inside Elfsight where users can create event→action rules between widgets on the same page. Think of a lightweight, Figma-like canvas that maps widgets and lets you wire interactions without coding.
Events (examples): click, select, form submit, item hover, visibility change, etc.
Actions (examples): set field value, update content, scroll to a widget, show/hide, trigger a popup.
Example
When a Pricing Table item is selected, the Calculator receives that value and the page scrolls to it.
We realize this is a fairly ambitious, long-term concept, but we’re sharing it now to see whether you would actually want something like this.
If this sounds useful, please upvote and comment:
Which of the MVP pairs would you use?
Are there any other widget pairs, events, or actions you need?
If I’m reading this correctly, it’s just an idea so far. There’s nothing to test yet? Otherwise, I’d love to try it out.
I’m not familiar with Figma, but I’ve read up on it.
I think the idea is good. It would save a lot of manual customization and also the support required. I can think of things like a button that opens a popup, popup 1 that opens popup 2, and a button that opens a chat. But I’ve already implemented these examples.
It’s definitely a good thing for usability, especially for beginners.
But there will certainly be limits to what’s possible, which will then lead to further customization and support requests.
But there are so many other features that have been a long time coming. Won’t you fall behind if you also dedicate time and programming resources to this?
I can’t quite categorize this benefit right now.
There are so many other examples that would be more important to me on the dashboard right now. Here are two.
Thank you so much for your feedback, makes a lot of sense! Yes, this is just an idea for now, and we’d love to know what the community thinks about it before we move further. We thought it might be a good way to simplify complex things so fewer customizations are needed when it comes to setting up widget integrations (which seems to be a common case).
It’s hard to deny there are lots of unreleased requests in our Wishlist, but worry not, we’re not going to rush into developing this new idea before we see it’s something many Elfsight uses would benefit from. That’s exactly why we posted this question-request here
As for the suggestions you mentioned, they do sound logical, but unfortunately only a few people have voted for them so far. But I’ll flag them to our devs anyway
Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts, Sina!
If I’m understanding correctly, a pricing page that has a pricing table and has a button that says “contact sales” and you can sync it so when they click that button on the pricing table it opens lets say Live Chat or AI Chatbot Widget since its on the same page?
