As for your other questions, I’m afraid I don’t have a solution at the moment, I’m very sorry 
I absolutely understand that the current way of working with the uploaded locations is far from being perfect, but for the moment I can suggest you to vote on these requests to track the updates:
- Change the "action on marker click" for all locations right away
- Export a csv list of data
- Google Maps 'Bulk Upload' CSV template should include Categories
