This would be a great option! Any updates?
My use case would be a standard course membership. Currently, my whole site is locked for just members, so the sales page is housed elsewhere. I’d love for some portions of the site to be public and some protected, so I can put the sales page and maybe some articles in front of the paywall to help with conversions.

I totally get your idea of hiding content for, say, free users. I think our Content Locker Widget suggestion could fit your use case too. Feel free to upvote it if it feels like a good match! 
Unfortunately, we currently don’t have these widgets in our plans, but we’ll make sure to update you here if there’s any news
