Great news, folks: we’ve started working on this feature!

It’s currently in the Design stage, but we’ll keep you updated on the progress here

Can’t wait for this feature

that’s amazing!!
I don’t know if this is already in the plan, but it would be great to add the automatic update of the events, in case of a google sheet connected to the widget. So, when working on the Google Sheet, the events on the widget automatically update for existing ones, or automatically generate new ones when creating a new row.

Hi there, @Bianca_Grisolia and welcome aboard :waving_hand:

Yep, this idea is also on the Wishlist, and you can upvote it here - Sync events to Google sheet.

If this idea gains more votes, it might be considered in the future :slightly_smiling_face:

will this allow us to have it as a work around for auto creating the events?

eg.
community fill out a form
form fills out google sheet
google sheet creates event

A spreadsheet is simply a table-style file — it can be either a CSV or a Google Sheets document.

We’re currently working on a feature that will allow importing events from CSV files. I’ve updated the thread title to make this clearer.

This feature will let you import events from a file, but please note that any new events added to the file later won’t be automatically synced with the widget.

From what I understand, you’d like to automate the process so that when users submit events through a form linked to Google Sheets, those events automatically appear in your Event Calendar widget.

If that’s the case, the Sync events to Google Sheet idea is the perfect match for your use case — feel free to upvote it :slightly_smiling_face:

A post was split to a new topic: Pull events through the Zapier integration

Will this allow all the options that are currently in ELF, eg, tags, buttons, venues, hosts etc

we need to be thinking how we can best automate adding events.

Yep, it will be possible to pull all event elements from the CSV file to the widget :slightly_smiling_face:

Morning @Max to make this utterly perfect a template on the form builder would be fantastic so it created the correct inputs for when exported via the Google Sheets integration. If that existed, the end to end of getting submissions through to getting them added to the event calendar would be complete. I would be happy uploading these 1 by 1 as submitted by users of the form as it is easier than manually gathering and creating the events.

Hey @Phil! :waving_hand:

Thanks so much for the feedback! Here’s what I understand from your idea:

  1. You’d like to have a pre-made Form Builder template to collect event submissions with all the necessary fields.

  2. After receiving the event submissions, you’ll upload them to the calendar via CSV.

  3. Going forward, new events submitted through the form will also be uploaded to the calendar via CSV.

Is everything correct? If so, unfortunately, the pre-made Form Builder template won’t work for this scenario. New events can’t be dynamically pulled from the CSV file, and if you try to upload a new CSV, it will just replace the previously imported events.

I hope this explains things.

Our devs are currently exploring the workaround suggested in this thread. Once this done, you’ll be able to automate the process of pulling events directly from your clients into the calendar :slightly_smiling_face:

are you suggestinng that if you import via csv all the other events on the calendar get deleted? As in this feature is to only be used to start a calender?

Yep, you’re absolutely right!
