We’re happy to share that now you can import and export events in the Event Calendar using CSV files, making event management quicker and simpler than ever
The widget can interpret text descriptions of repetitions. Just write your repetition details in the Repeat field of your CSV file, and the widget will automatically convert it into the correct internal settings.
There’s also a reverse function: the widget can generate a clear, user-friendly sentence from the repetition settings.
The language of the text is automatically detected based on the sentence itself or language selected in the settings
Imported events will replace all current events and filters

Have you tried out the new functionality yet? What’s your take on it? Let us know in the comments - we’d love to hear your thoughts
I didn’t read this “Imported events will replace all current events and filters“ so I have just deleted my entire database for Event Calendar. WTF There is no way to restore.
Additionally, when I imported a new file with only two records, it created new records for the Hosts and Venues that already existed. So my original Hosts and Venues were wiped out with the two new hosts/venues. It didn’t matter that both event records were in the same venue and with the same host, the import created two entries for the one venue and two entries for the one host. If I import a new event record with a host or venue that already exist in the database, then why is it creating duplicates?
In any case, I would love to have my calendar back and running since this looks really bad for my business.
So sorry that testing the CSV import feature caused you stress
I see that my colleague Danis already restored the previous version of your Event Calendar widget in the Support ticket, so everything should get back to normal now.
Please let me know if there’s anything I can help you with now that the previous events are present, and I’ll do my best
