Yeah, this isn’t helpful at all. Why would I want to overwrite all of my previous events? Plus, this seems buggy - just tried and the calendar I was pushing events to showed an error from the CSV I’d downloaded from a separate widget. Why would ES generate a CSV that wasn’t compliant with internal requirements for CSV structure??? Please develop a solution - we have numerous calendars where it would be helpful to duplicate some select events and push to other calendars.

I totally get your feeling and agree that it would be handier to add new events to the existing ones, rather than completely replace them.
We already have this idea on the Wishlist and if it gets more votes, we’ll try to consider it. Feel free to support this idea - Don't Remove Existing Events When Uploading with CSV
As for the error when importing events, could you please specify:

the name of the Event Calendar widget, where you exported events to CSV

the name of the Event Calendar widget, where you’ve tried to import these exported events
