How to edit/update a API key of a duplicate google map

I’ve created a duplicate google map as I want the exact same settings and style but for another website.

The only problem is that I can’t find a way to edit/update the API key to the new API key for the additional website.

Is there a way to do it without having to create from scratch?

Hi there, @user5002

I see that you’ve sent all the needed info to my colleague Pavel and I’ve updated the API key in the duplicated widget.

Check it out and let me know if everything is fine now :slightly_smiling_face:

It hasn’t worked but I think I sent the wrong key, can you please try this key:

(I think there was a dash in the key I sent previously.

Yeah, there was a dash in the key you’ve sent to Pavel.

I’ve replaced it with the new code. Could you please double-check it?

No it’s still not working, I must have done something wrong.

I’ve checked your website and I found the following error in your console -RefererNotAllowedMapError:

It means that you didn’t add all the required referrers to your Google Maps API key or added them incorrectly.

Please follow the steps from this article to set them up and let me know if it helped - How to get Google API Key for Google Maps widget.

I have updated the API, including the website which had one additional letter that shouldn’t have been there.

It still doesn’t seem to be working though or has it not updated yet?

Can you check the website code please?

The same error is still there, unfortunately. COuld you please send me a screenshot of how you’ve set the restrictions for your API Key? Here is an example of what I mean:

@user5002 Here is the correct variant: https://mentalhealthsc.org/*

Also, please try to switch the API Restrictions to Restrict Key:

Ok thank you, sorry about this.

Is there anything else that could be wrong or is it definitely what you think?

Usually this error appears when the restrictions are set incorrectly, but will investigate it further and try to find out the reason for this :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you

Could you please give it one more try and add https://mentalhealthsc.org to the restrictions?

Please try to use it without asteriks, just https://mentalhealthsc.org.

If it still doesn’t work, please revert to the restrictions you’ve set initially:
