How Do You Optimize Elfsight Widgets for Faster Page Load Times?

Hi Elfsight Community,

I’m using Elfsight widgets on my site but noticing slower page loads. Any tips for optimizing them to boost performance?

Details:

  • Setup: Freelance developer, running a WordPress site with Elfsight’s Social Feed and Reviews widgets (2025).
  • Context: Following Elfsight’s setup guide, I’ve embedded widgets via shortcodes. Google PageSpeed scores drop to ~70 on mobile due to widget scripts.
  • Steps Tried:
    • Enabled lazy loading for widgets.
    • Reduced widget content (e.g., fewer posts in Social Feed).
    • Used a caching plugin (WP Rocket), but still see delays from widget requests.
  • Goal: Improve PageSpeed scores to 85+ on mobile while keeping widgets functional.

Questions:

  • What strategies do you use to optimize Elfsight widgets for speed?
  • Any specific settings or code tweaks to reduce load times?
  • How do you balance widget features with site performance?
  • For those with fast-loading sites, what’s your approach?

Thanks for your insights!

Hi there, @Bhola and welcome to the Community :waving_hand:

Could you please send me a link to the page where your widgets are installed? I’ll be happy to check it for you :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the warm welcome and quick reply! The Elfsight widget (Instagram Feed) is installed on my Shopify store’s homepage The Yes No Button. I’ve noticed page load times around 4-5 seconds with the widget enabled. I followed Elfsight’s optimization tips, but no major improvement. Any suggestions to speed things up?

Thank you!

I’ve checked the page and don’t see the widget there now. If you’ve removed, could you please either restore it or add it to the test page?

I’ll be happy to look into this for you
