It would be nice to be able to hide a menu item instead of just deleting it. Often an item is only gone for a short period of time, and it would save the trouble of having to recreate the menu item/price. Very useful!

The good news is that our dev team are considering this feature to be included in one of the nearest updates

I’ve got an update regarding this feature: I’m happy to say that our dev team are going to start working on this functionality within a week.

I’m afraid we update our cloud widgets first and haven’t planned to add this feature to the Shopify version yet. I’ve been in contact with our dev team and they will try to add this task to their roadmap.
Meanwhile, you’re welcome to use our cloud solution which already supports this feature

Dear friends,
We’re stocked to say that now you can hide items in your Restaurant Menu widgets! 
This is how you can do so:
- Go to your widget’s Menus tab
- Choose the item you need to hide
- Scroll down to Show in Menu and deactivate the option
