Fix the phone field issue for UK users

This change makes our extensive use of forms (over 200) confusing to our UK visitors, as all of our previously perfect forms are now showing +1 and the US flag at the start of the phone entry field. …This is NOT good… The dev team needs to put in place a fix for all of those that need to set a default or have nothing showing for country codes, but do this quickly, and not in months’ time.

Preferably, the dev team should have had the foresight to see how this would impact those already using forms. I need the AS-WAS version of the forms. This is a backwards step if there is no way to set a default. Not all who use websites live in the USA, and this change will create a barrier for my users to fill out forms now until there is a fix in place, as it is an unnecessary additional step, as all my forms are set with phone number as a required field.

Hi Phil, I’m really sorry about all the confusion!

We’ve discussed this behavior with the devs, and they’ve confirmed that the default country depends on the Language chosen in the settings:

Our devs will gladly help you remove the USA as a default country from your widgets. Could you just share which way you’d like to proceed?

  • Remove the default country flag from all your Form Builder and Contact Form widgets.
  • Or, we could set a default UK country in all your Form Builder and Contact Form widgets.

Hi @Helga I have only just seen this. Would it be possible for devs to set all my forms to the default of English (UK) please. That would be super-helpful.
