Is there a way to set up a filter by author or see all posts made by a specific author?

At the moment, it’s possible to filter posts only by categories and tags. You could use add authors to tags, but I see you’re using them for a different purpose.
So, I agree that it would be awesome to have this filter option too. We’ll try to think about it in the future, especially if more users upvote this idea 
I guess off of your idea - if I were to put the author’s name as a tag - how do users search/filter by tag?

Clicking on any tag will take your readers to a page with all posts tagged with the same keyword:
I agree that it might be not the most straightforward way to filter posts (Categories option could be a better fit if you didn’t use them for a different purpose) and a separate Filter by author option would be a perfect fit for your needs.
We’ll have this idea in mind and see for more votes from other users
