We would like to use the Event Calendar widget to display a conference agenda. However, once the event concludes, the agenda currently moves to the “Previous Events” section, where:
- Users must navigate away from a blank ‘upcoming events’ page to find it.
- The session order is reversed (Newest to Oldest), which is not ideal for a conference programme.
Proposed Enhancement: Allow the Event Calendar widget to continue displaying the full agenda after the event ends, in its original chronological order (Oldest to Newest).
Benefits:
- Improved User Experience: Visitors can easily revisit the full programme without extra navigation.
- Session Recordings Integration: We can embed/link to session recordings directly into the agenda descriptions, turning the calendar into a lasting resource.
- Consistent Presentation: Maintaining the original session order preserves the logical flow of the event, which is especially important for multi-day conferences.
This enhancement would significantly increase the utility of the widget for conferences and similar structured events.
