Dynamic Category Filters

Hello Elfsight,

We have a newsroom for our department that has a variety of categories like most RSS feeds. We have all of our news that feeds into our main website, but teams are looking to have just their categories displayed on their team websites.

I saw some requests for filters, but I think they are a bit different than what I want.

I am looking for something similar to the calendar, where I have my primary RSS feed, but can customize the category in the code when I install the widget? (on the calendar I can say host=abc" for example).

Right now, I just create a new RSS feed for the specific category, but I won’t have enough RSS feeds on my account to do that for every team. And essentially, it is ONE widget with ONE feed, just looking to filter from that feed a specific category of content.

Is this possible? If not, thoughts on a way I can use a single widget to get this result for teams?

If I got you right, you’d like to dynamically show posts related to different categories on multiple pages using one widget (similar to Pre-selected filters option in our Event Calendar).

Unfortunately, this functionality isn’t supported in our RSS Feed, but I’ve added your suggestion to the Wishlist. If it gets more votes, we’ll try to think about this opportunity in the future :slightly_smiling_face:

As for now, the only solution is to get a higher widget limit by upgrading your plan and create a separate widget for each category.
