This week is full of exciting releases, and we’re thrilled to share another big update!
This time, we’ve made some major improvements to the Countdown Timer app, adding a bunch of great features that you’ve asked for on the Wishlist
What’s inside the update?
Auto-repeat option
You no longer have to manually restart the timer each time it finishes! With the new Repeat feature, you can set the timer to automatically restart on a daily, weekly, monthly or any custom basis:
The auto-repeat option makes it easy to run recurring promotions without having to update the start and end dates
No counter reset on page reload
Before, the countdown would reset to zero if the page was reloaded. Now, it’ll continue counting down without resetting, even if you refresh the page
New button options
You can now add up to 10 buttons to your timer, each with different actions:
-
Link: Opens a URL on click (you can add multiple link buttons)
-
Form: Opens a form popup. You can add any fields from the Form Builder (only one form button can be added)
-
Add to Google Calendar: For date-based timers, this option lets users add the event to their Google Calendar (only one GC button per timer)
Layout improvements
Full-Width Section
The Install To Required Position layout is now called Full-width Section and comes with a new Content Width setting:
Inline layout
We’ve added an Inline layout and a Widget Width setting. The main difference is that the Inline layout doesn’t stretch the background across the full width, while the Full-width Section does:
Floating layouts
You can now choose to disable the Close button for Floating layouts:
New Theme options
All appearance settings are now in the Theme tab for easier navigation. You can choose from 11 themes, including:
- 4 default themes (with customizable accent colors)
- 7 holiday themes (with preset colors)
You can also create a custom theme by adjusting the color and size of any widget element:
New separator options
You now have the option to hide the separators between counters or change their style. Choose from a colon, dot, slash, or line:
Track visitor interactions with your widgets
We’ve added a Google Analytics integration to the Settings tab, and this feature opens up powerful opportunities for tracking how your audience interacts with the Countdown Timer.
With this, you can get detailed insights into your timer’s performance, helping you optimize your promotions and user experience. You’ll now be able to track events like:
-
Countdown Completed
Know when the countdown finishes, giving you insight into how users engage with your timers. -
Countdown Restarted
Track when the countdown restarts, helping you understand how often users interact with recurring promotions. -
Form Started
See when users begin filling out a form, providing insights into form engagement. -
Form Submitted
Track when a form is submitted, helping you measure form conversion rates. -
Button Clicked
Understand which buttons are being clicked, with additional details like Button Type and Button Label, so you can make informed decisions on improving your calls to action.
These tracking capabilities will definitely help you fine-tune your strategy and make data-driven decisions to improve your results
Important details
All the features mentioned are only available in widgets created after this release.
Here’s why we decided to apply this update to new widgets:
-
Many users have custom codes in the Custom CSS and JS fields, and this release could break them
-
The new widget version is built on modern technologies and isn’t fully compatible with the old ones
We’re planning to add an option in the settings to switch your existing widgets to the new version. In the meantime, we can manually assist with this.
Guys, If you’d like to upgrade your widget to the updated version, just let us know in the comments, and we’ll be happy to help
