I’d like to be able to contrast good and bad reviews for shoppers. I sell books, and the VERY FRIST reviews a book buyer looks for are the bad ones. Anyway, I’d like to be able to specify the star# (1 - 5) of the reviews displayed. Then I could run two widgets side by sside so shoppers could have full transparency.

I agree that it would be awesome to sort or filter reviews by rating. We’ll try to consider this opportunity in the future 
As a workaround, you can manually add the reviews with the required rating using the Include Reviews filter:
