It seems to me that refreshing a feed every 6 hours is completely unhelpful in the instance of placing a feed on a site that is promoting and posting about an event. By the time the new posts show on our website, it will be very old news on the days that the event is occurring. Why is there not an option to select refresh rate like on other plugins??? So far, this is the only issue I have found with this plugin, but it’s a big one for us.
Hello there @user13817
You see, the cache system helps us reduce the server load and make everything load much faster, which is why we cannot remove it completely. Collecting data also comes with extra costs, and based on the info we’ve gathered, a 6-hour cache time works best for most of our users and us.
However, we do understand that in cases like yours, it’s important to update the widget more frequently. We’ll keep investigating the ways to reduce the cache time, and I’ll be sure to update you here in case of any changes.
Many thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
WE would like this change as well. A 4-6 hour refresh wait does not work in the modern world. WE are currently looking for other options that do not have this limitation. We would PAY extra for an option that allowed faster updates or, as other apps often do, allow a small number of manually triggered refreshes each day.
Thank you very much for your comment, @Chris_C! I see your point, and I really hope we’ll find a way to make the cache system more flexible. We’ll be happy to post an update if we have any news
Thank you for your help, and welcome to the community!
