I’m currently facing an issue with the display of our AI chatbot widget on a specific device model, and I’m looking for insight from the community.
The Problem:
While testing the performance of our chatbot across different devices, I noticed that the widget fails to appear entirely on an iPhone 7 (running the latest iOS it supports, which is about 4 years old).
What Works:
The chatbot works perfectly and displays correctly on all recent devices, including the iPhone 12 and various Android models.
The Question:
Has anyone else encountered this specific problem where the chatbot widget doesn’t load on older/legacy iOS devices like the iPhone 7?
If so, is there a known workaround or a specific configuration (related to JavaScript compatibility, CSS, or security settings) that needs to be addressed for older web views?
Any feedback or potential solutions would be greatly appreciated!
Hi there and welcome to the Community, @Donato_Poggi
I am afraid, there’s nothing can be done with it, since the latest JavaScript features are not supported on iPhone 7.
However, we’d be happy to double-check it for you. Currently, your website isn’t loading on our end, but if you could restore it, our devs would be happy to investigate it
Thank you for your quick response and for the initial analysis regarding the JavaScript limitations on the iPhone 7. I understand the constraint on older iOS devices.
Regarding your request: I am surprised to hear that the website is not loading on your end.
We have thoroughly checked the site’s status using external monitoring tools, and it appears to be online and fully functional globally. We have confirmed successful loading from multiple geographical locations in both Europe and Asia yesterday and just moments ago.
Could you please attempt to refresh the page or check the URL again?
We would be very grateful if your development team could proceed with the investigation as offered, as we are keen to resolve this iPhone 7 issue.
Yep, the website is loading fine now, but it seems you’ve removed the widget from the page. Could you please restore it so that we could look into the issue?
Hi Max, I temporarily removed the widget in the free version, then restored it in the pro version. Now, in the next few days, I’ll try to set it up as best as possible for my costumer, this way I can propose it to other customers.
no, I haven’t removed the widget. It’s still there and working, but if you visit the site with an iPhone 7, you won’t see it. As I said before, I just switched from the free version to the pro version, but I did that two days ago.
Ah, maybe I understand. You’re looking at the English version, which isn’t up to date (the site is under construction and the hotel is about to open). You need to look at the Italian version . Please go to this link: Chalet Valdotain - (add /it to the domain ) or select Italian from the menu.
Our devs investigated the issue and, unfortunately, there is no way to fix it for iPhone 7, since the latest JS features are not supported for this model. I am really sorry
If you have any questions left or any assistance is needed, we’ll be happy to help!
