Sorry to say there are none, I know that the Elfshight team work hard on this. And do believe that they want to offer the best for their clients.
Overlays do not fix accessibility issues. AccessiBe LOST the lawsuit against them : accessiBe - Wikipedia
Accessibility is more that just changing the font and color of a page and adding cool highlights.
Certain tags can not be overlaid, usage of ARIA tags for example, that is a requirement for proper HTML.
It can not add image description [ALT] if there is none.
It can not add ARIA attribute if there is none.
It can not add key navigation if proper HTML is not used.
Not a replacement for proper semantic HTML.
Overlays can not add what is not there.
Sorry to be the nay sayer. I do believe in doing the right thing, the right way.
BTW I am not perfect either, we are working with the help of experts on doing the site right for ADA.
Elfshight keep up the great work.
Hi @Andre_clc ![]()
Thank you so much for your feedback!
Youâre absolutely right â accessibility issues in a websiteâs HTML should be fixed by adding missing attributes like alt tags, aria-labels, and so on.
I just want to clarify that our Accessibility widget doesnât fix these issues. Instead, it provides helpful tools such as contrast adjustments, special fonts, and keyboard navigation to make browsing your site easier for everyone.
That said, if the websiteâs elements donât have needed accessibility attributes, they wonât be navigated properly, even with these tools.
As a bonus, you can use our widget to check your websiteâs accessibility status and receive a detailed report with scores and recommendations for improvements ![]()
Iâd also like to mention that weâve made significant accessibility improvements to our apps with a number of fixes - Accessibility enhancements ![]()
Thank you, @Max
There is a misconception that an accessibility overlay will fix all the bad markup in a website. And that is what most of the other services claim to do.
Just want users to know that.
But please! Keep up the great work making those beautiful widgets accessible!
PS. To be honest here, I have a lost part of my hearing serval years ago, I do understand the some of the challenges.
Appreciate your feedback, @Andre_clc! Your perspective means a lot, especially knowing some of the hurdles youâve faced.
Weâll keep working hard to make our widgets accessible for everyone ![]()
