Ability to assign multiple selections for the event type/hosts/venues

I want to select several event types for one event.

I would like to be able to use the event type to specify the audience that an event is relevant to, but some of our events are suitable for multiple audiences, so it would be great to be able to add multiple event types to an event.

It would be awesome to add multiple event types for events that have more than one event included. For example, my company has a mechnical services trade show coming up and it involves multiple trades like HVAC, Plumbing, etc. As of now we can only select one trade at a time. It would be ideal to have a drop-down that allows the same event to pop up under multiple trades.

Hello!
Is there any way that instead of just a dropdown for an event type, or filterable items, there is a checkbox option for multiple types? I’d love to instead of just having “lobby”, have “lobby and Auditorium” and they all list. I would REALLY love to use this for an upcoming conference!

Or perhaps the “Tags” option lists as a dropdown?

Or Am i missing an option you already have?

Thanks!

Hi @user2020, Happy to welcome you to the Elfsight Community!

I’m afraid we really don’t support multiple types option at the moment, but I’ve moved your suggestion to the thread with a similar request and I’ll make sure you to keep you updated on the progress

Thanks a lot for your help, it’s highly appreciated!

It would be great to be able to select multiple event types and/or hosts for each event, similar to the way you can choose multiple “groups” to assign team members to in the Team Showcase. This way an event can be tagged with event types of, say, “Arts & Crafts” AND “Summer Fun,” allowing the event to show up if the user filters by EITHER “Arts & Crafts” OR “Summer Fun.” This seems like a feature that is entirely plausible, due to the fact that it is currently in use in other Elfsight widgets.

Thank you!

@user3253 I do second your idea! But I’m afraid it’s really a feature request as of now, so I’ve moved your comment to the dedicated thread.

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts and use cases, we’ll try to consider this suggestion in our future updates

Thanks a lot for your help and joining our community! Welcome! :hugs:

Most events fall into multiple categories, a festival for example could fall under “Food & Drinks”, “Music & Concerts”, “Art & Exhibitions” amoungst others (these are some of my event categories). This applies to many if not most of the events we feature per day.

Anyone browsing the events calendar essentially needs to “guess” which category the person uploading the event classified it as. I.e. Depending on which part of an event someone is interested in they may approach the filter from a different mindset, look under their area of interest (e.g. “Food and Drink”) and not find the event, as it was listed under “Music & Concerts”.

This would be a phenominal benefit. Alternatively providing the ability to search by tags would accoumplish the same result (as we could simply add them here).

Hi @user3560

We already have a similar request in our Wishlist, that’s why I’ve moved your suggestion to this topic.

I agree that this feature would be really great and we’ll try our best to consider it for our future updates.

Thanks for your comment and welcome to Community

Thank you for describing your use case, that’s really helpful!

We do realize that it would be beneficial to choose multiple event types for one event and we’ll strive to work in this direction.

All the updates will be posted here :slightly_smiling_face:
