If its possible to expand upon the event calendar data sourced through a google calendar, would it be possible to have the option for a “related events” carousel above/below the general events table that lists up to 4 future events happening at a specific location and has the same tag/category?
Thanks a lot for taking part and sharing your idea with us! We really appreciate your contribution.
Since this contest is all about AI, we’re inviting participants to suggest features that could use AI to improve our apps. Could you share a bit more detail on how AI would be applied in the feature you’ve proposed?
For context, I haven’t used the store locator widget for clients after google required an additional fee to run the map tool BUT would love to increase the pitch value of this widget by having a “compare locations” modal that can quickly summarize which locations offer specific amenities based on the about page or trending reviews from the google my business profile page.
I am afraid I didn’t get your use case.
Just to clear things up:
-
In your first comment you’ve mentioned a “related events” carousel for events imported from Google Calendar
-
then you’ve said about a Store Locator widget and “Compare locations” modal
Could you please clarify the widget you mean and how the AI would work for your case?
Sure thing! I meant to give two separate ideas. One for the Events Calendar, another for the Store Locator.
For the events calendar, the AI feature would pull a list of 2-4 events that share the same location, time, and category. My hope is that this feature would be compatible for event data sourced from a google calendar.
Reason: I primarily work with small teams who have 1-2 website contributors. They either partner with external organizations or own multiple businesses. The clients I work with don’t want to spend a lot of money or time on their event management workflow if they can help it. They’re often organizing 40+ events per season/quarter.
The second idea is a comparison tool feature for the Store Locator widget. This would give people an ability to compare which location they want to go to. Users who interact with the widget can get a quick glimpse on which location offers more or specific amenities.
Reason: My current roster of clients are service-based small-medium businesses with multiple locations in one city. Not all locations have the same amenities because they’re different facilities. Some are stand alone brick & mortar while other spaces are in a mall or shared studio. The problem I have with this widget is the additional fee required to run the maps, which has easily made my clients decide not to use it. My hope is that I can increase the buy-in for this widget by adding more ways to interact with the information already listed in the google my business profile and hopefully get that data crawled by search engines and LLMs on site.
I’m also interested in the idea of using the Store Locator widget for comparison landing pages since some of my clients’ competitors are paying for top google search results page positions on our branded keywords. Not sure how the API is configured for the Store Locator but I would like the ability to link store location’s GMP profile data to each listing in the directory. Not only will i be able to compare store hours and location, but users can also compare amenities or trending reviews.
Let me know if this wasn’t the clarity you were looking for. Are you looking for more agentic use cases?
Thank you!
I need to say that we accept only 1 idea from a participant in our Contest. Could you please specify the idea you’d like to submit for the contest?
Sure thing! I’d like to enter the Event Calendar idea please.
Got it, thanks!
Before I add your idea to the contest thread, I’d like to ask a couple of questions to get a better understanding of your suggestion.
You have a list of events pulled from the Google Calendar and and you’d like the AI feature to also pull related events with the same location, time, and category. Could you clarify where these related events should come from?
Also, since you may have a large number of events with different times, dates, and locations, how should the AI decide which ones count as “related”?
