Can you do add an option “rel=nofollow” or “rel=sponsored” that could be applied to all outbounds links of a widget ?
It would be nice to be able to select ‘nofollow’ (or even ‘sponsored’) for all outbound links ?

Hi there, @Eric_NIEDERGANG ![]()
Just to make sure we understand the use case correctly: would you like this attribute to be applied to all links generated by the Instagram Feed widget (for example, profile and post links), or only specific types of outbound links?
Also, is your main goal SEO control (nofollow) or marking promotional links (sponsored)?
Additionally, could you please share the name of the Instagram Feed widget where you’d like to implement it? I’ll be happy to check if we have a custom solution ![]()
No, sorry. This applies to all Elfsight widgets
It would be great if, for each widget, I could choose to add ‘nofollow’ or ‘sponsored’ to all outgoing links within that widget (Banner widget, for example).
Got it, thanks for clarification!
Unfortunately, there is no way to implement this idea now. However, if more users support this request, we’ll try to think it over in the future updates ![]()
These attributes cannot be added to banner or image links because they only work with links created using the native <a> tag. This is how text links are implemented, which is why they support the nofollow setting.
For image links, we use JavaScript to handle the link opening, so these rel attributes cannot be applied in the same way.
I hope this clears things up.
Anyway, I totally get your point and agree that it would be a nice enhancement. Let’s hope this idea gets more traction and the devs will be able to consider it ![]()
Yes, I understand
Sure, it would be a nice enhancement.
I hope the devs will be able to consider it because it is very important concerning SEO
