I definitely understand the restriction though. If it means anytihng, if there was any option to pay more for that widget to get a more robust AI reponse I’d be interested. I know many ai chat services charge extra for AI resolutions, so if that would improve the experience/speed I’d be down…just mentioning this for a community vote in case that’s an option
Thanks for the idea, @Wodobo
I am afraid, we can’t give any promises for now, since we completely depend on our provider (Open AI) in this case. However, if they have any changes on their end, we’ll try to implement them to the widget too
Thanks so much! You guys are great!
Great news, everyone! We’ve started exploring this idea, and as a first step, we’re going to introduce different typing animation effects to make the wait feel smoother
We’ll keep you updated on the progress here!
Hello,
I would suggest considering the addition of a message like “The assistant is typing…” or displaying the text progressively as it is generated.
Although the blinking cursor is already present, the current response times may make users think the chat has frozen. This small improvement could help reduce drop-offs and enhance the overall experience.
I am available for any further discussion if needed.
Kind regards,
Leonardo
Hi there, @Leonardo_Pezzini
Glad to say that we’re currently working on this improvement! I’ve moved your comment to the related thread, where we’ll keep you updated
Update: the feature is in the Development stage!
Thank you
Hi everyone
I’m thrilled to share that this request is now closed! Your AI Chatbot widgets have been updated with live response streaming to cut down the wait
See the details in this post: AI Chatbot: Faster replies with live response streaming🚀
Please share your feedback on how this works for you
I was surprised by this change while testing earlier is there a way to change it back, I’m really into design and this makes the response look choppy before the change it was smoother in my opinion. But I understand it’s probably better objectively so customers aren’t waiting and making it engaging to read would just like to have options open!
I definitely like the experience side improvements when it comes to eliminating the perceived waiting time, but I do agree that the roll out of the text feels a bit like a ticker tape.
Wondering if there’s any control that would allow the text to come in more smoothly maintaining the improvement on speed, but feeling more refined.
Previous to this change text would just appear, and if it was a larger block of text, then the user would have to scroll up.
So I do like the text reveal, but wonder if there’s a way to modify/refine it so it doesn’t feel like a type writer.
Or maybe a toggle setting in the tool that allows users to decide if they like the “Reveal” or to disable it to use the old method
I would argue that this new version is actually worse. I got a lengthy response that took more than a minute to get written… character by character. It was excruciating. At least in the previous version users were “waiting” for the answer, while in this case they’re getting bored to death by it.
@Joshuacub @Wodobo @Ronald_Bardalez Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, guys! It’s really helpful to hear back and consider different use cases.
I’ve talked to the team, and I know the devs are going to think over possible ways to enhance the response streaming speed so that it feels smoother. I’ve also created a request in our Wishlist, feel free to upvote it to get notifications when it’s released: Make response streaming smoother
Thank you so much for helping is shape the feature!
