while crwaling linkedin post - it took around 48 hours to post through elfsight widget. Kindly try to reduct that time. you can charge extra to quick updates. but that feature should be there.
Welcome aboard
I totally understand your point. This task is quite complicated and I am afraid I can’t promise that the cache time will be reduced. However, we’ll definitely try to find a solution for this!
A huge thank you for your input
To follow up on this? I didn’t realize there was a delay. We had a “scheduled post” that posted on October 23 and it has yet to show up on the LinkedIn feed. Is there a several day delay?
Yes, the cache time for LinkedIn Feed widget is 48 hours.
If it’s been more than 48 hours and you’re still not seeing the new posts, please share a link to the page where your widget is installed. I’ll gladly check it for you
Hello. Has this been resolved yet. Is there still a two day delay on updating the feed?
Hi there and welcome to the Community @user9559
Yes, the cache time for the LinkedIn Feed is still 48 hours.
I’m sorry about the long refreshment time, but unfortunately, we cannot reduce it now due to some technical restrictions. Hopefully, we will be able to overcome this hindrance in the future. I’ll keep you updated
A post was split to a new topic: LinkedIn Feed post delay issue
Helllo,
we would really appreciate the functionality in the elfsight backend to manually trigger a cache update.
Sometimes posts are very time related und fast outdated
Hi @user5555
I understand the importance of sharing new posts in a timely manner, and I agree that it would be just a perfect improvement.
Although, there are some technical difficulties preventing us from reducing the cache time, we’ll try to find possible solutions in the future. We’ll keep you posted here
Many thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
Can the feed be updated/refresh sooner? Otherwise the widget will always be showing feed that is already 2 days late?
Hi there @IT_Support_Pan
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback!
I’m sorry about the long refreshment time, but unfortunately, we cannot reduce it now due to some technical restrictions. Hopefully, we will be able to overcome this hindrance in the future.
I’ve moved your comment to the dedicated thread in the Wishlist, where we’ll keep you in the loop.
Hello dear Elfsight team,
we have also decided to integrate the LinkedIn feed on our website to always show the latest posts. Well, after 48 hours a post is no longer necessarily up to date.
Is there already an update on the caching (query time) of the posts.
After all, social media is a very fast-moving tool and should therefore always be up to date.
Many posts always refer to very current topics and after 48 hours something like this can already be over/irrelevant.
Thank you for your answer
Much as I’d love to share an update, unfortunately, the solution hasn’t been found yet. I’m really sorry
Your words do sound reasonable, and hopefully our devs will find a way to reduce the cache time for LinkedIn posts in the future updates.
Many thanks for pointing us in this direction and yes, welcome to the Community!
Why am I getting these emails?
I see that you’ve voted for this feature, that’s why you got this notification.
Please let me know if this explains things or if you have any questions left
Hi! I have to admit it’s a bit annoying. 48 hours nowadays feels like a week
Even if your solution is great, I think it should be clearly announced on your website because when I read "Share up-to-date post content to create a relevant feed ", that can mislead us.
Technically speaking, is this due to LinkedIn itself with its API or something that needs to be done on your side?
Thanks a lot.
Hi @Mylene_Louis and welcome to the Community
Your words about the info on the app page sound reasonable and I’ve shared your feedback with our team. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us
The cache system helps us reduce the server load and make everything load much faster, that’s why we cannot remove it completely.
Also, data collection comes with its additional costs. Currently, we’ve set the cache time to 48 hours, but we do have plans to work in this and find ways to reduce the cache time in the future.
We promise to keep you posted here in case of any news
Hi, we have just launched a new site and have started using your LinkedIn Widget, we are frustrated that the cache takes 48hrs to refresh, as we want our site and our feed to be as up to date and relevant as possible for our users.
Have you gotten any closer to resolving this issue for us and shortening the cache time?
Thanks
Hello @Rebecca_Beard and welcome to the Community
Thanks a bunch for sharing your feedback with us!
I completely understand your concern and agree that it would be great to reduce the cache time for our app.
However, unfortunately, we haven’t got any updates on this request yet. I am really sorry
Once we receive any news from our dev team, I’ll immediately update you here!
I agree - a delay of 48 h is so significant… Two of our customers to whom I recommended Elfsight have already complained about this issue. And to be honest, I can totally relate. They are using the widget for spreading company news via LinkedIn, so they don’t need to manually put their news on their websites. But a news post that’s already two days old … you know what I mean.
It would be great if you could improve this.
