Padding issues with live widgets not displaying on website

I have about three widgets used on a website (https://www.theetiquettemethod.com)

  • Two pricing table widgets
  • One LinkedIn Recommendations widget
  • One Customer journey widget

At first, I had excessive padding around the widget which could not be resized. So I followed the first bit of advice for 7.1 editor here: Why my widget has an extra padding on my Squarespace website - Elfsight Help Center

That worked however, however it did not reduce the padding just around the widget, but of the whole Squarespace section. So I had to re-create surrounding sections so things would be spaced properly.

Ever since adding in that code-fix, it caused problems with the Squarespace site overall. The vertical and horizontal points from which you can resize images/text boxes often breaks, and changing section sizes also became an issue.

So, I try to use the Classic Editor solution as advised in that article and that works in preview mode. The code was copied and pasted in again correctly into a new </> code block, now those widgets do not display AT ALL on the live website and nor on mobile.

On the back-end Editor mode in Squarespace, all code blocks jut say ‘Script disabled’. Why?

As you cans see with all the blank spaces where the widgets should display. They displayed momentarily when I used the Classic Editor section fix, but then they stopped displaying.

Really frustrating issue!

What’s the problem?

Update: now things seem to work display again.

Hi @John-Paul :waving_hand:

I’m so sorry to hear about the trouble with the Squarespace paddings! I’m sure that we can figure something out for you with the devs if you still require our help after using the Classic Editor method.

Could you please let me know if the paddings still need to be reduced now, after the widgets are live? If so, it’d be great if you let me know an approximate size of the white space that you want to see above and below the widget :raising_hands:

I also passed your feedback to my team, and we’ll make sure to look into making the article you used better.

Speaking about the widgets not showing for some time, I need to say that, unfortunately, we got affected by the recent Cloudflare issue. We’re still recovering from it, so you can keep an eye on the news in the corresponding Forum thread: Elfsight got affected by Cloudflare global network issues.
