It would be nice if I could make the sidebar in the dashboard a little wider.
This would make the content in the code editor and custom JS/CSS more visible, and you wouldn’t have to constantly scroll back and forth.
Glad to see this wishlist item. Count me in! Please see my recent post on this topic.
In my opinion, this should be a scheduled enhancement, not a wishlist item. As it is, it’s very difficult to view and edit both CSS and JS codes inside the settings panel.
Can you kindly give us an update on this feature request? While no significant number of votes have been collected, the requested feature can also be considered as a “bug” since the CSS and JS code fields are small and restrictive.
Happy to buy you a pint (or your favorite beverage) if you can move this one up the ladder. Without a public roadmap for the AI Chatbot, all we’re left with is to ping Elfsight when things are not moving as fast as expected.
@Max It does not solve my personal issue: The editor box does not scroll up and down while highlighting code. Currently, it only scrolls horizontally.
I know I can press+hold SHIFT which is an easy workaround. But I cannot tell you how many times I’ve accidentally gone back a page when 2-finger scrolling to the left while working in the code editor.
If a handle-bar to resize the editor is not feasible for your Devs, how about a modal box for the code editor?
this helps a little with vertical scrolling, but not with horizontal scrolling. Therefore, the scalable sidebar example has been included in the proposal. I also like @PeterC’s idea of solving this with a larger modal box, i.e. popup. I think the devs can understand that, because the way it’s currently solved, they don’t want to work with it
No, that does not help. Please refer to the original recommendations provided by @Sina and me.
We need a “grab handle” that will allow us to expand the CSS and JS code fields horizontally. Also, expanding the native width of the CSS and JS code fields would be nice. There is plenty of “real estate” in the Elfsight dashboard to do that. This, of course, would be in addition to the “grab handle.”
Also, I do not support a pop-up to solve the issue since many browsers have a pop-up blocker add-on, etc. installed which would require enabling/disabling the add-on every time we access the Elfsight widget dashboard.
