I need to reduce the padding of the outer background container, as well as the internal container that contains the logo.

You can reduce the inner padding using the Vertical Padding setting in the Background section on the Style tab of your widget’s settings:
And what do you mean under the outer padding? Could you please send me a screenshot?

Also, is it possible to add to top of a page similar to what you can do with the count down timer?

As for the 2nd idea, I am afraid, I didn’t quite understand it. Could you please elaborate on what you mean?
We’ve removed paddings by adding this code to the Custom CSS field on the Style tab of your widget’s settings:
.es-layout-carousel-wrapper {
height: 54px;
}
