Why did we make this change?
Our widgets with forms were receiving a large number of automated spam submissions.
Emails and autoresponses were being sent to non-existent addresses, which caused the email provider to start limiting outgoing messages.
This affected email deliverability for all our customers, so the protection is now enabled by default and cannot be disabled.
Does this change how forms work?
For your visitors, nothing changes. We use invisible reCAPTCHA v3 — there are no puzzles to solve or images to select, and the verification runs in the background. The only visible change is a small reCAPTCHA notice below the form.
Can the reCAPTCHA text be removed?
This notice is not decorative — Google requires it as an indication that reCAPTCHA is active on the page, that’s why it can’t be removed.
[!note]
reCAPTCHA sends technical visitor data to Google (such as IP address and browser information) and uses cookies. If your website serves visitors from the EU, we recommend updating your privacy policy to mention the use of Google reCAPTCHA and include a link to Google’s Privacy Policy.

Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA)
To protect our forms from automated abuse and spam submissions, this website uses reCAPTCHA v3, a service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). reCAPTCHA analyses visitor behaviour to distinguish human users from automated bots. It does not require you to solve any challenge and runs in the background whenever a form is displayed.
For this purpose, reCAPTCHA collects and transmits to Google technical and behavioural data, including your IP address, browser and device characteristics, referring page, and interaction patterns such as mouse movements and time spent on the page. reCAPTCHA also stores a cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) on your device. This data is processed by Google to provide, maintain and improve the reCAPTCHA service and for general security purposes, and may be transferred to servers located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.
The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in protecting this website against spam and automated abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Further information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
