I’m using your widget as the hero image/banner on the homepage of my Zoho Commerce site, and it is causing a major performance issue that Lighthouse is clearly flagging.
My metrics show:
-
First Contentful Paint: ~3.3s (page renders fine)
-
Largest Contentful Paint: ~9.0s (this is where the issue occurs)
After investigation, Lighthouse is marking the Elfsight iframe content as the LCP element. This means the browser is waiting for:
Elfsight JS → iframe render → images inside the iframe → before the page is considered “visually complete.”
Because this is above the fold, it is severely hurting performance and PageSpeed scores.
I need to know:
-
Is there a way to render Elfsight content without an iframe?
-
Is there a preload / static render / SSR option for hero banners?
-
Is there a way to lazy-init the widget after the page paints?
-
Do you have performance guidance for using Elfsight in above-the-fold positions?
Right now, your widget is the sole reason my homepage LCP is 9 seconds, even though the rest of the page loads quickly.
I love the tool, but this behavior makes it unusable for hero content unless there is a workaround
