I currently work with squarespace and host my blog on there. Unfortunately their blog does not have the ability to show page numbers at the bottom for people to select but rather it shows a newest button and oldest button so people can’t skip ahead or back easily. Squarespace does not have to ability to customize this. Is there something I can put in to make page numbers show instead of the current navigation without having to transfer my entire blog?

I am happy to say that we have a Blog widget, where the pagination with the page number is available (pagination appears after adding over 16 posts):
Test it out and let me know if it worked for your needs
