Welcome to the Community @Stephen_Chow

Unfortunately, there is no option to add tracks to the widget using links. The only option is to upload the track right from your device. I am really sorry!

We see how useful this option might be for our users, so we’ll try our best to consider it in the future updates. We’ll keep you informed about any changes.

Thank you so much for sharing your idea with us :slightly_smiling_face:

are you kidding?

IN 2021 until just a few weeks ago it was working perfectly.

We built up out whole work with elfsight audio players on the possibility to use the Google drive links.

In 2021 you wrote to me:

you can add URLs to the Audio Player and I think it should be possible to add files of any size in this case, however, these links should lead directly to the track. you can use DropBox or Google Driver and we actually have an article that explains how to add the links - https://help.elfsight.com/article/802-how-to-add-files-from-google-drive-and-dropbox-to-audio-player

I have over 30 audio player widgets, which base on this function and Now the audio player does not work anymore - the article is also deleted - what is that all about?

As I already had to experience how you just change existing contracts and possibilities (from unlimited widgets to only 3).

I am fearing that you also changed another possibility and we are facing now the next real problematic situation for us, because our files are bigger than 25MB.

Can you please urgently respond and explain what is going on? Since two days I try to reach out for the support and receive no answer. And the students, which are supposed to listen to the recordings presented to them with your widget cannot hear anything.

What happens to Elfsight? It is so disappointing.

Hello there

I am genuinely sorry for all the frustration the new limits have caused to you!

We do understand that these changes may have caught you off guard, and we are eager to discuss your specific situation and find the best solution for you. I see that you’ve already talked to our support agent on this matter in a support ticket. So, if you have any further questions or feedback, please get back to Ksenia. She’ll be delighted to help!

As for the Google Drive links, I see that Ksenia discussed the issue with the devs. As she said, recent changes on Google’s end caused existing Google Drive links to cease functioning within the widgets. We’re receiving errors from Google and are unable to play music within the widgets.

This change occurred after we removed the option allowing the use of links in widgets. Prior to this change, long-term customers like yourself could still use Google Drive links in their old widgets. Unfortunately, many other users are encountering similar issues following these Google changes, as evidenced here: Google Issue Tracker.

So, the only workaround is to download tracks from your Google Drive to your computer, reduce their size, and re-upload them to the widgets.

We do realize all the inconvenience caused by this situation, but, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do on our end to change this. Please accept our deepest apologies for this situation :pensive:

If you have any further questions, please reach out to Ksenia. She’ll be happy to advise!

Dear Max,

I found this article: https://lienuc.com/

Will you be able to program elfsight audio player again to embed audio files from Google drive again in future?

Or is this service off the table forever?

Thank you,

Tanja

Hi @Nepal

I am afraid, we can’t promise that functionality will be definitely restored, as the things mainly depend on Google. However, we’ll try to investigate this situation further and find the suitable solution.

I’ll make sure to update you here in case of any news :slightly_smiling_face:
