Website Review #10: Niddledy Noddledy Analysis and Ideas for Improvement

Niddledy Noddledy is a portfolio run by @Suchanda, a family photographer from Kolkata.

The first thing you notice? Amazing photos and text that actually feels personal. The focus is clear, the work looks seasoned, and you can definitely tell Suchanda loves what she does.

Still, a couple of tweaks could make it even easier to explore. Let’s take a look at what’s working and what could be improved :backhand_index_pointing_down:

What’s working well?

The site has some really strong points and here’s what we liked most:

Photos that wow

Full-screen shots of newborns, toddlers, and moms-to-be look straight out of a top studio. Perfect light, color, and composition — this is the site’s main wow factor:

Copy that hits the heart

The text speaks directly to moms: “Your baby will never be this tiny again” “Moments pass. Photos last.

It’s not just a dry list of services — it’s a conversation in the client’s language. Any mom looking for a newborn photographer will feel understood:

Strong social proof

124 five-star reviews displayed via Google Reviews widget, “Trusted by 2,500+ Kolkata moms,” and press badges from Times of India and Calcutta Times — and you immediately know you’re in good hands:

Clear service categories

Four main areas (Newborn, Pregnancy, Kids, Cakesmash) are easy to spot. Each has its own photo card, description, gallery link and visitors immediately know where to go:

Personal touch

The line “I’m a baby photographer in Kolkata. But I’m also a mother. And that changes everything.” is pure gold.

It positions Suchanda not just as a pro, but as a mom who truly gets her clients. That’s a strong emotional hook:

Video brings the work to life

The embedded YouTube video Childhood in Every Frame adds a sense of life that photos alone can’t capture.

It’s a perfect extra nudge for someone deciding to book:

What Could Be Improved?

There are some spots that could use a little polish. Here’s what we found:

Page length & repeated content

The homepage is pretty long (about 25 scrolls) and some content shows up several times.

Categories, galleries, hero sections, and booking buttons repeat quite a bit.

[!tip] Recommendation
Consider shortening the page by about half.

Keeping one hero slider, category section, gallery, reviews block, and About section could make the page lighter and easier to navigate. Extra content like extended galleries or full reviews could be moved to separate pages.

Google Reviews block

The Google Reviews widget takes up several screens with lots of cards. Most visitors notice the first few reviews, and that’s usually enough to feel confident:

[!tip] Recommendation
Try showing 3–6 top reviews in a compact carousel with a link like “Read all 124 reviews on Google.”

Customizing the widget’s style to match the site could make this section feel cleaner and more inviting.

Verbose My story section

The section, where Suchanda tells her story is long, with lots of great paragraphs. Some visitors might not read it all, so a few key sentences could get lost:

[!tip] Recommendation
Consider highlighting the strongest sentences on the main page and linking to a full My Story page for those who want the full story.

Missing process & pricing info

Visitors see beautiful photos and glowing reviews, but might not know exactly how a shoot works — duration, what’s included, or how many photos they’ll get:

[!tip]
Add a compact block with key info like shoot duration, included services, and a general price range.

This helps visitors understand what to expect and feel more comfortable booking.

Footer & contact info

The footer currently shows social icons but doesn’t include essential contact details like studio address, hours, phone, or email.

[!tip]
Consider adding a simple footer with address, phone, email, hours, and maybe a mini map.

This makes the site more trustworthy and also supports SEO.

Final thoughts

Niddledynoddledy.com is an amazing portfolio with world-class photos and a strong review base. The main area for improvement is trimming repeated content, which would make the site cleaner and easier to navigate.

@Suchanda, many thanks for sharing your website!
