# 🔷 Before Using Elfsight

- The self-service directory lacked SEO and content control.
- The default contact form and user control panels didn’t fit the desired setup.
- Needed a more user-friendly, visually appealing, and reliable solution.
- Custom tweaks to the default contact form often broke after updates, causing maintenance issues.
# 🔷 Solution

"We have made extensive use of **Contact Forms** , and we sell **Review widgets** or **Instagram Feeds** as an upsell or with our higher-rate listing packages. This works really, really well.
A game changer recently has been a creative use of the **Store Locator**. Since we use longitude and latitude anyway for all of our listings, and I have the ability to download all into a CSV, I have been able to recreate our holiday property listings into a more useful single map across all of our categories (I would love to see categories in future):

And since we share the above weekly on **Instagram** and **Facebook** stories, the links are opened on phones most often, and the geolocating ensures that the page shows the closest advertisers are shown based on their current location… so if they need a cafe or pub they see it as a list of what is nearest to them. AMAZING!"

I forgot to mention in the original feedback that I had also used the ‘Store Locator’ for the start/finish point of the walks that we have on our website. Using a CSV to add the data including the longitude and latitude, this enables the geolocating function when users access our walks when in the Peak District National Park to see which walks start closest to where they are at the point they access the page. See: [https://letsgopeakdistrict.co.uk/peak-district-trails/](https://letsgopeakdistrict.co.uk/peak-district-trails/) - this using the “Shades of Green” map style to give an idea of the local topography.
