(Squarespace) Replace Add to Cart with Custom Button

If it is just a static text, I can give you code now
But if you need to make it open login popup, it will take some days to test code
I will give you guide when I finish testing

If you need paid help ($100), I can offer this

  • hide add to cart + show text/button “Login to purchase” (or any text what you want) when users are not logged in/or logged out. You can set this on products belong specific categories/tags/shop page
  • click “Login to purchase”, login popup will appear, when they login it will hide the text “Login..” and make Add to Cart appears

If you agree this, you can add me as a contributor on the site, I will test code. You can pay when everything is resolved later.

If you don’t have this budget, I suggest the free solution.

  • hide add to cart + show text/button “Login to purchase” (or any text what you want) when users are not logged in/or logged out. You can set this on products belong specific tags/shop page
  • click “login to purchase”, login popup will appear, however, after logging in, users may be redirected to the home page

Hi Tuan, client has got back to me and wants to proceed.. would the client then need to run 2 different versions / indexes of their products if they want all to be viewed publically however only some (ones that are tagged) need to login to purchase.. would all products then be indexed by google?

Hi there Tuan i want to proceed to can you email me hello@squarely.com.au, and i can organise payment etc

ps: i was brett above too

The way I mentioned above is just using CSS to hide the element, without removing or placing it behind a member page, so Search Engine Bot (ex: Google, Bing..) can still access and read these items.

I will test some code then let you know in the next 1-2 days.

ok thanks.. maybe we can get on a zoom to discuss?

I work via email only, however I wrote this quick guide to achieve your request, you can try follow this guide to know how it will work first

Here when enable/disable button, it shows an ID on the web, I rely on this ID to toggle add to cart hide and show.

Hi there

Fantastic!

So when they’re logging in are they logging in to a customer account or a members area?

Tested, it should work with both

Hi there, i have just added you to the site. Claire the Naturopath.

Here are the issues:

  • button appears and all good, however you can click on the image / title etc and go through to the product and bi-pass the login…
  • For people who dont have a customer account how can we make them sign up for a customer account or login…
  • Other add to cart buttons should appear for non-tagged products.
  • How can we make it work for a summary block as i need to use universal filter for the products

Also I think working in a summary block, that when they click through to product detail page has the “login to purchase” button
