# Open event in same window

It would be great if the user clicks on “get tickets” and the event opens in the same window and not a new one. The popup preview is not sufficient.

I do not want the link to open in a new browser. This link is to a product and I want the product to add to cart. So the fact that it opens in new window effects the check out experience.

Hi folks!

I’m very happy to say that we’ve implemented an option to open links in the same window 🙂

Here’s where you will find it:

Content tab → Event → Button → Button Link (gear icon):

@SolveigPriebe it seems you’re using Event Calendar from Shopify market, and I’m afraid this is a separate app requiring a separate update, I’m really sorry about it ☹

I hope we will add this feature to our Shopify app too, but you’re very welcome to check out our cloud [Event Calendar](https://elfsight.com/event-calendar-widget/) where this option is presented already 🙏🏻
