My slider widget displays an unintended and unwanted code snippet

I created a simple Slider widget and embedded it into my SquareSpace sight. Mostly it works just fine, but there’s a stray snippet of code at the top I can’t get right of:

Note that I use Squarespace’s “Basic” plan, so per Elfsight’s instructions I’ve embedded the widget’s code using Markdown as opposed to a JavaScript code block (which is only available on more expensive Squarespace plans. I mention this in case it might help explain what’s going on, though according to Elfsight’s installation instructions it should work.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Figure it out: I just needed to remove the comment line from the code I pasted into my Markdown block.
