Currently I have around 390 entries in my Event Calendar and when the settings are set to show 12 months per page the site fails to inxed on google search console with “something went wrong’.
Visually you can see that the site has an extended pause of about 4 seconds before the 1st event is shown.
Now I have updated the settings on advice from your help desk to 1 month and whilst the delay is still there it is reduced. Google Search console works and index’s the home page correctly and identifies the events.
But here is the kicker. Google only identifies the events in the 1st page thus only events in the current month. So I have increased the setting till it starts to fail
The site is currently set to 8 months which is the max i can do before Google Search Console fails again
Is there anything else I can change as I have tried to consolidate images for each event but that makes no difference in the load time?
You’d like to pull all events into the schema markup while keeping high loading speed of the widget, right?
Here is what we can suggest here: you can reduce the number of months per page and we’ll manually add a markup that includes all your events.
Keep in mind, though, you’ll need to update this markup manually whenever you edit or add new events, since it’s a custom setup that isn’t automatically synced with the widget.
Please let me know if you’d like to proceed this way
